Little Sprouts Education Coach Chosen as Voice from the Field

Our Education Coaches are leaders in the field! Our very own Susan Norquist, Education Coach at our Brighton school, was selected to speak as a “Voice from the Field” at the Worcester Area Association for the Education of Young Children (WAAEYC) meeting on April 29, 2016. Alongside MA legislators and the Commissioner for the Department of Early Education and Care, Susan championed quality early education from the perspective of a front-line leader. Meeting attendees included Senator Michael Moore, Representative Mary Keefe, and Commissioner Tom Weber. During this event, Susan excited the crowd with a motivational speech, including: “We are the names, the faces, and the voices of the new leadership in early education and care. We stand before you armed with knowledge, wisdom, and confidence.” We are so proud to highlight Susan as an ardent advocate for high-quality early education.

Additionally, Susan will complete a Leadership Certification Program through Quinsigamond College and Worcester University in December 2016. This program requires leaders to complete five courses that cover all aspects of becoming a leader in the early childhood education profession. Participants have been encouraged to advocate for changes and become more knowledgeable with the political system and its leaders. These courses will also be applied towards Susan’s Master’s degree in Educational Leadership.
