I hope you’ve enjoyed this nice short week!
Our celebration today is brought to you by two long-time Little Sprouts leaders, Alison Boucher and Erica Reed… more than 45 years of incredible service between the two of them!! They asked me to celebrate a fellow long-time Little Sprouts educator, Janeen C., who will be closing this chapter of her journey after 15 years at Little Sprouts Methuen. To say her friends in Methuen will miss her is a massive understatement. But, of course, they are super happy for her pending nuptials and the early retirement that will follow! (Jealous!)
Alison and Erica were clear that Janeen was very much a lynchpin that held the Methuen school together through thick and thin. In Alison’s words, “Janeen has been a go to person, break specialist, health and safety coordinator and has taught in every classroom in Methuen along the way. She is also mom to a Sprout alumni, Adam, and her oldest son, Anthony, was a camp counselor a few years ago too. Janeen has been a rock and true friend to everyone, directors, teachers, children and families at the Methuen school all this time. Janeen’s journey in life has faced many challenges (her son, Adam, has had multiple kidney transplants), but Janeen’s smile has never wavered. She will be missed terribly, but we know will visit often and stay in touch- as Little Sprouts is a big part of her family and she is to us.”
Erica went on to mention the impact that Janeen has had on her life – both professionally but also personally. Erica was the Executive Director in Methuen for many years, so she had the privilege of working closely with Janeen. But Janeen was also her twin’s teacher when they were toddlers and made their transition seamless. A direct quote from Erica: “I loved her as a teacher and support to that school!”
Janeen is obviously a special person who Little Sprouts has been lucky to count as a part of our family for the past 15 years. Best of luck to Janeen, who personifies our Family First value, as she embarks on the exciting next chapter of her journey!
Thanks, Janeen, for living our values!
