FRIENDS Friday – 12/9

In FRIENDS Friday, Lawrence by Little Sprouts

Hi FRIENDS,

I am honored to share with you a story that unfolded just this morning at our Lawrence school. We had the unique opportunity of hosting amongst the most influential Massachusetts leaders in the field of early education. The gentleman who visited us this morning was formerly the Chairman of the EEC board, and he remains active on the board and beyond.

In addition to showing him around the SUPER impressive Lawrence school, we also asked a few of our incredible educators to speak with our guest. Jullisa Declet (ED), Abby Nales (EC) and Demetria Simms (infant teacher) each shared their personal story. The goal, which they were wildly successful in achieving, was to press upon this individual the importance of more meaningfully investing in the early education workforce.

Here are a few parting words that our guest left with me:

“Little Sprouts is one of the good ones. Really. You have passionate teachers who do incredible work. Your children and families are lucky.” He went on to say that it was, “an extremely helpful, powerful and hopeful visit”.

Please join me in thanking Jullisa, Abby and Demetria for going above and beyond – not just for their school, not just for Little Sprouts, but for early educators statewide and beyond. They are living proof that we are Not Daycare!

Thanks, Jullisa, Abby and Demetria, for living our values!

Mark
